On August 6, Khmer Enterprise (KE) officially launched its Export Market Development Program, an initiative aimed at helping Cambodian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) expand into international markets. The launch event served as a major gathering point for key industry stakeholders, offering in-depth insights into the program’s objectives, structure, and benefits.
The program targets export-ready enterprises as well as those planning to begin exporting in the near future. Its design focuses on equipping these businesses with:
-
Technical knowledge of export procedures
-
Logistical expertise for navigating international trade
-
Access to financing from banks and financial institutions
One of the prominent participants at the launch was the Cashew nut Association of Cambodia (CAC), which delegated two member companies to attend the workshop. CAC’s involvement underscored the importance of this program for agricultural exporters and reflected the sector’s growing role in Cambodia’s global trade ambitions.
The workshop attracted a wide range of participants:
-
- Development partners and international organizations
- Various business associations (like the Cashew nut Association of Cambodia)
- Banks and microfinance institutions
- Logistics companies
- Local SMEs from various sectors
- The Chamber of Commerce
In addition to financial guidance, the program offers technical training on export procedures and logistics, ensuring that enterprises can operate in compliance with international standards while maintaining efficiency.
