The Cambodian cashew industry has been experiencing significant growth in recent years, with the country becoming the world’s second-largest exporter of RCN. The government has launched a national policy to further promote the development of the sector and aims to become the world’s leading exporter.
To support domestic production and increase value creation, the government is providing financial and technical assistance to farmers. The goal is to improve production efficiency and processing capacity, as well as expand export markets and improve competitive advantages.
Despite being a major exporter of fresh cashew nuts, Cambodia currently only processes around 5% of its annual production. By increasing processing capacity, the country can add more value to its exports and improve its economic benefits.
In India, cashew prices have been on the rise, with cashew kernels, W320, trading at USD 7,960/mt FOB India. This increase in prices may be influenced by factors such as global demand, supply dynamics, and production costs.
