More than 100 key players in Africa’s cashew sector have completed the Master Training Programme (MTP) — a high-impact capacity-building initiative aimed at boosting the growth, efficiency, and sustainability of the continent’s cashew value chain.
A total of 103 participants were selected from eight major cashew-producing countries:
Benin
Burkina Faso
Côte d’Ivoire
Ghana
Guinea-Bissau
Nigeria
Senegal
Sierra Leone
These individuals represented a diverse cross-section of the industry, including farmers, processors, researchers, policymakers, and trade experts.
Program Focus & Structure
The training combined:
Theoretical learning on agronomy, value chain economics, quality standards, and global market trends
Practical sessions on improved farming techniques, processing technologies, and traceability systems
Interactive discussions on policy-making, trade negotiations, and sustainability
Networking sessions connecting participants with leading African cashew organizations
The MTP is widely recognized as a flagship program that has trained hundreds of professionals over the years and contributed significantly to value addition and sector formalization across Africa.
